You can either enter both individual and team competitions (groups of 8). Competing is not compulsory, however, being able to represent Cronulla with your friends is a lot of fun a gives a great sense of Achievement! The annual competitons foster a strong sense of belonging, club spirit and loyalty. National Finals for Juniors are held at the Sydney Olympic Park and for seniors and Ladies at The Sydney Opera House.
There are a series of friendly competitions for both teams and individuals. Each individual aged between 5 and ladies have the opportunity to compete in 3-4 competitions per year!
Interclubs: 2 per year These are comps with clubs outside of our usual zone as a preparation for Champion Girls and teams. These are a good opportunity to check your progress and to get comfortable out on the floor, esp if you have never competed before. They are not compulsory, however, it is a great practice and a lot of fun to hit the floor in your new leotards, and it's great fun competing and performing with your friends!
Club Comps: This is a great event to showcase all your hard work and talent in front of Cronulla Club. It's a great way for all club memebers from Toddlers-Ladies to showcase to eachother what they have been working on throughout the year. It's also a good opportunity to hit the floor again to perform!! EVERYBODY is encouraged to compete!
Champion Girl: Once again this is not compulsory but we do encourage all our JNR and Ladies to compete. There are various zones within NSW, however, we are apart of the Southern Zone. This is held at Sylvania Youth Ctr Box Road. All girls compete in their specific age group, then 5 place getters are chosen, who then go onto compete in Nationals which is held at the State Sports Ctr.
Repecharge: This is for JNR members who made the zone final, but did not place. This gives the girls a 2nd chance to reach the National Finals.
Teams: A team consists of 8 girls/ladies. They are judged on their ability to perform the syllabus in perfect timing and standard of work. Members need to work in a friendly and committed manner. This comp is held in combined age groups eg 5/6. Black long sleeved leotards are worn and all 8 girls have the same hair/make-up so that they all look the same. This is the highlight comp of the year as it fosters the team environment and you get to hit the floor with 7 of your class mates!
Open Senior Heats: These are held at the State Sports Ctr. The top 15 from each age group (15 years+) are selected to go through to the National Final which is held at the Sydney Opera House.
